The old home movie video effects really helped to sell the nostalgic feel of the spot.
And our client tells us that attendance was up 17% at the event this year.
Did our radio and TV spots have anything to do with that? Who’s to say?
But we DO know that we sure enjoy working with the great people at An Affair of the Heart!

was interviewed by Studio 360′s Kurt Anderson from WNYC in New York City.

Wayne does a great interview and that’s probably why this session, originally

planned for 30 minutes, easily flowed past an hour. As the engineer for the session,

it seemed to me like only a few minutes and was over way too soon.

heck your local listings or the internet for this insightful interview with Flaming Lips founder and leader Wayne Coyne, who by the way used to cook fish at Long John Silvers. I wonder if I ever ordered Golden Crunchies from him? Who knew!

We’re finally here! After three separate major moves by the moving company and countless trips in the company vans, we are finally completely out of the old building.

That doesn’t mean we are completely settled into the new building, but Video One is up and running and so is Audio One. The core is installed and running and things seem to be normal enough to do business, so bring it on.

Our thanks go out to all the great people who helped complete this move. Namely, Lynn Garman, who organized it all and made charts of where things were to be placed in every room. The movers said they had never seen that done before and they were grateful. Many many thanks to our staff, Kimmi, Marti, David and Jody for all their help and ideas and Sue, Cahlene and Emily for guiding the movers to their appointed set-downs.

We are open for business and everyone who has already been here for work loves the location and the ease of getting here. We hope you will too.

Please change your address books to reflect 2828 NW 58th St. 73112-7057.

One of the great things about working in our business is that we constantly get to experience something new.

Recently, one of our long-standing clients gave us that opportunity once again.

Jody Harlan, Public Information Administrator for the Oklahoma Department of Rehabilitation Services, asked us to help produce an informational video done completely in American Sign Language.

ASL is a distinct language with its own unique grammar and syntax, so there were some language barriers that Garman staffers had to adapt to during production. Through the help of a fantastic ASL interpreter, the on-camera talent, DRS staff and Garman Productions crew communicated easily and effectively to make the studio production run as smoothly as every other shoot.

A unique degree of difficulty was added by the use of a teleprompter. Normally, the teleprompter operator scrolls the text on the screen, adjusting the speed as the talent speaks. In this case, since no words were spoken, our talented prompter operator quickly learned the pace and rhythms of the signing talent. No small feat and definitely not for the inexperienced operator!

Thanks to our on-camera talent Cody and Jessica and to DRS for giving us the opportunity to expand our horizons once again.

It was a big surprise for all the rodeo fans at Ford Center this month when three of their favorite cowboys sudenly filled the big screen talking about using their seat belts.

Garman Productions shot the PSA in January and posted it just in time for the PBR’s big shindig February 14th in Oklahoma City’s Ford Center. It was produced by the Oklahoma Highway Safety Office through Brothers & Company in Tulsa, who recommended that Garman Productions handle the whole project.

“Garman Productions did an outstanding job with every aspect of the Buckle Up PSA that debuted at the PBR event in Oklahoma City, ” said Scott Watkins, Director of the Oklahoma Highway Safety Office. “We were very pleased with the excellent quality of the production and the professionalism of eveyone involved. The PSA precisely targets the audience we want to reach and clearly portrays our message in an exciting and dynamic way.”

Hopefully you’re dying to see it by now, so here it is: Buckle Up PSA . And if you’d like to see the photos from the shoot, here they are: Buckle Up Shoot Photos . A special thanks to our friends at OHSO who really made this fun. In the photos, you’ll see them actually leading a horse to water!

I totally agree with our engineer who says, “Nothing magnetic is archival.”

Magnetism fades away all by itself over time, but an optical burn, like Blu-ray, can’t be bulk erased accidentally or just fade away with time.

Now, they even offer more storage. Blu-rays will soon be on the shelves that hold 128 gigs total on 3 to 4 recordable layers. And there’s a re-writable version coming out that will hold 100 gigs.

We’ve also seen Blu-ray players on sale for as little as $49.
